International authority links increase ranking

There’s an interesting question floating around the Internet about the value and importance of linking with authority sites. As you may already know, authority sites are those enviable sites that have high page rank, tons of traffic, and high levels of customer loyalty. I recently spoke with an online marketer who talked to me about the value of gaining authority links from other countries to optimize my own website.

One important thing she shared with me was the value of obtaining links globally.

Yes – that’s right – globally! 

Most of us don’t really think about where our websites travel - we just want them to bring in a lot of traffic. But it’s important to remember that you can find authority sites anywhere in the world.

Thank goodness those search engines are smart enough to help with translation!

It may be wise to consider a strategy of locating authority sites in other languages and countries, and working with those site owners to gain a link to your site. It appears that these types of links carry a heavy weight when it comes to search engine ranking for your site. As a matter of fact, it is believed that one link from one of these well-known authority sites can be worth hundreds or even a thousand links compared to links from sites with limited or no relevancy.

Google, as you probably guessed, has created a way to make this easier. They have a plug-in called Google Global, which helps you find these global websites. With Google Global, you simply proceed with a normal Google search and then when the search results page is presented, you can right click anywhere and “Search Google Global” is offered as an option. You can click on your country of choice to find the websites. I tried it and it’s really easy to use.

Just a few of the other searches you can conduct with this tool include:

• Search results in different cities or regions
• Search results for a specific IP address
• Search results for a specific US zip code
• Search results from language results pages

Finding inbound links from these websites can draw incredible amounts of traffic to your site, but more importantly, search engines will highly reward you and your website.
